Welcome to the HHS Digital Photography class blog. Our lab is composed of twenty-two Apple iMacs. Production will start with students learning the basics of digital photography including: image composition, advanced camera features, and components of the iLife 09 software suite. Later in the year, the students will explore advanced image manipulation with Adobe Photoshop.

Charred Iron
Tyler D.
This photo was taken in my den about a month ago and it is my favorite because of the detail on the pole. I boosted the color, enhanced the photo, and increased the saturation, contrast, and exposure.

Leaves
Robert S.
This photo was taken in my backyard. It is my favorite because I like how the background is in color and the subjects are not in color. To edit this image, I just increased the contrast and made it black and white and then used the history brush to bring the background back into color.
Reflections
Michael C.
This picture is called Reflections because of the reelection of the stump in the water. I took this photo at my lake house in Alexander City. It is my favorite because of the lighting and how the sunlight highlights some parts of the log and drapes the other parts in a rich shadow. I did not edit this photo in any way.
Point of View
Molly P.
I took this photo in my front yard when I was outside reading. I really like this picture because of the angle at which the trees are shown. I feel like it is really detailed but simple at the same time. To edit, I activated the antique effect and added a Vignette shadow around the edges.
Clavos
Luis E.
I took this picture in my kitchen; it is a wall filter for my DSL service. i cropped it to where you can only see the nail and and then i made copies of it the put them together until I formed a tessellation. I used a filter and made the photo grayscale

Space Zoom
Natalie S.
This picture was taken of christmas lights in front of my house. I selected only the pinks and blues of the christmas lights and then made a tessellation of it using photoshop.
Feathers
Molly R.
I took this picture at the zoo over the summer. To make the tessellation, i took a triangle of a peacock's body. I like this picture because it is up close and captures the details in the peacock's feathers. I didn't enhance this picture at all to create the tessellation.
Bella
Joanna W.
This is a combination of two pictures. The first was taken of my friend Katelyn in the courtyard while she was studying Spanish. The second is a leaf I found outside the school on the side walk. I put a copy of the leaf image on top of the picture of Katelyn and decreased the opacity so that both images can be seen. Then I just messed with the curves and saturation to create more contrast. This image is my favorite because I like Katelyn's position and the fact that it was a candid photo. I also like the way the leaf blends in with the tree and makes the whole image look kind of faded and natural. I titled the image Bella because it means beautiful in spanish.

College
Julianne F.
This photo was taken on the Mississippi State campus, where I'm going to college this fall. It is my favorite because I love how well my jump is captured and that it's not blurry. To edit this photo, I straightened, cropped, and changed it to black and white on iPhoto. In Photoshop, I used the Clone Stamp to fill in where my sweatshirt flew up and showed my stomach.

Fire
Megan R.
This image was taken of a small candle. The clarity of the wick stands out against the fire making it very interesting. I edited this photo by cropping it and using very natural edits.

Bricks
Mallory A.
This photo was taken at my house a few months ago. I really like this photo because i love the different colors in it and how one brick is in focus but the rest are blurry. I enhanced the photo and changed the levels of exposure and saturation.

Hands
Haley B.
This photo was taken in the classroom for the portrait project. It's my favorite because it looks unique. The only edits I did on this photo was put it in black and white and boosted the color.
Close Up
Courtney F.
This picture was taken at my house.I really like it because its sort-of different. I like how it is in focus, and its blurry. I cropped this picture, and changed the saturation a little.
Door
Christopher J.
This is an old photo i took through the glass on my front door. I like how it is half blurry and half clear. I edited this photo by increasing the brightness.
Nature
Damaris G.
This is a picture of a pinecone. I took this outside my house on one the snow days. It's my favorite because of the angle i took it from and how clear it is. I enhanced the picture and made it black and white then made the outsides blurred.
Caught Up in an Ice Storm
Brittany M.
This photo was taken on my deck during the ice storm that we had in January. I really like the detail of the ice and the leaf that is frozen in the ice. I also like the clarity of the image too. I edited this photo by increasing the definition and sharpness a little bit and I increased the contrast just a little too.
